Description

I was invited to speak at the ESOT (European Society for Organ Transplantation) congress. I provided a historical perspective on face transplants, as part of a panel of medical experts speaking on vascularised composit allotransplantation and standards of care. Also on the panel were Prof. Simon Kay (on hand transplantation in the NHS, UK), Dr Christina Kaufman (on hand transplantation in the US) and Emmanuel Morelon (on face transplantation and long term results). This invitation clearly demonstrates the interdisciplinary impact of the research being undertaken on the AboutFace project.
