Professor Frank Kelly interviewed for article in South China Morning Post titled "Air pollution slows growth of children's lungs, says UK study" Following the release of a six-year study indicating that children exposed to nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter have slower lung growth, medical experts are calling for more action to clean the UK's air. Professor Frank Kelly, Environmental Research Group, was quoted saying that a child could lose as much as 165ml of lung volume under high-level exposure to nitrogen dioxide.
