    Research interests

    I am actively researching in the following core areas:

    • The Second World War - British home defence, Anglo-American relations, the liberation of Europe, 1944, post-war accounts, the Nuremberg Trials;
    • The history of the British Empire/Commonwealth during the twentieth century;
    • Decision-making and leadership.

    I am also interested in:

    • Other twentieth century conflicts;
    • Senior Professional Military Education;
    • Security challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa.
