Research interests

My area of research focuses on macromolecular protein assemblies and how we can combine structural details from a range of biophysical techniques with computational modelling to probe their dynamics, which may be poorly represented by traditional structure-deriving techniques. Understanding these dynamics are essential for understanding how these complexes perform their highly specific functions. In particular, my project involves the development of new tools to facilitate the integration of data from hybrid mass spectrometry together with low-resolution solution-state data from analytical ultracentrifugation and small angle x-ray scattering (from the Perkins Group, UCL). Data from these techniques are used as modelling restraints and are applied in an integrative modelling workflow that can be used to derive highly accurate dynamics of protein assemblies that may be hidden from static representations.
