Research interests

Caroline’s research forwards theoretical understanding and clinical care for people living with advanced frailty in old age. She studies the experience and care of older people living with frailty and their ”families” across care settings order to develop interventions to facilitate the delivery of consistent,  person-centred care.  She has a long-held interest in the experience of older people living with frailty and their capabilities  as well as their vulnerabilities.  This has led to an increasing interest in the (re)development of care systems to recognize, facilitate and enhance the processes and outcomes of high quality supportive care. Research expertise includes participatory action research, narrative research, mixed  method research and complex intervention development.
