Dorota Katarzyna Gaskins

My research is rooted in usage-based approach to language acquisition which sees human cognition and its interaction with input as the main engines for learning. My research interests include child language development, input-output effects in learning, bilingual exposure, code-switching, and the acquisition and use of metaphors. My work so far has focused on children aged 2-3, both those exposed to English, and those growing up with English and Polish as their first languages.
