    Personal profile

    Research interests

My research explores discourses and practices relating to cultural identity and the politics of new media at the intersection of several areas, including digital memory and heritage; algorithmic memory and afterlives; synthetic media; engagament with new and social media in cultural organisations and broadcasters; media theory and history; media, cultural and digital policy; media work in the context of exile, migration, and diaspora; and cultural diplomacy and brokerage.

I work with mixed methods approaches combining critical digital methodologies, including visual analyses, textual close readings, qualitative analyses of social media data, interviews, walkthrough methods and participatory action research frameworks.

Geographically, my work has focused on the UK and on Spain, but also on international relations of both countries with eg Mexico, Egypt, and Ukraine.
