    Research interests

    Molecular and cellular imaging of ischemia reperfusion injury, hypoxia, transplant rejection and infectious disease; using radiolabeled small molecules, proteins, immune cells and stem cells.

    Dr Mullen proposed the molecular structure of the extracellular domain of toll-like receptors, and has taken novel malaria vaccines from bench to bedside. This included cGMP production, preclinical evaluation, USFDA regulatory approval and coordination of both US and African field trials of candidate vaccines in adults and paediatric populations.
