Personal profile

Research interests

As a Senior Air Quality Scientist within ERG's Modelling team, I am currently responsible for maintaining and developing our London and UK road transport emissions tools, as well as working on developments of our London Air Quality Toolkit (LAQT).  These tools have been used for a number of projects, including the London Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (LAEI) for 2013 and 2016, and the modelling of the impacts of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).

I am also involved in several research projects where I am responsible for development of the group’s London Hybrid Exposure Model (LHEM).

Biographical details

Before joining ERG, I completed a PhD in Atmospheric Science at the University of Cambridge.  My PhD research involved the characterisation and use of electrochemical sensor units for measurements of personal exposure to gas-phase air pollution. This included the development of post-processing algorithms for data collected by these devices, and deployments of the instruments which were designed to test, among other things, the effects of transport mode or street pedestrianisation on personal exposure.
