Research interests

I have worked in the field of mental health service research over a number of years, examining the development and delivery of services for people with mental health and addictions problems.

My particular interest is the role of service user perspectives and user involvement in understanding mental illness and health care provision.  I have expertise in the use of qualitative methodologies in achieving these aims.

I currently contribute to a number of studies examining innovations in inpatient service provison and care, models of care for treatment delivery in alcohol dependence, and the implementation of recovery-orientated practice.  

Research interests (short)

I have particular interest in the experiences of people with acute mental health problems and the role of service user perspectives and user involvement in understanding mental illness and health service delivery.  I have expertise in the use of applied qualitative and mixed methods research in achieving these aims.
