Biographical details
Mr Jian Farhadi has a special interest in reconstructive surgery of the breast. His expertise is in microsurgical reconstruction using own tissue from the thigh and buttocks area.
Jian is the founder and a trustee of Bra Foundation, a registered charity to raise awareness about breast reconstruction options. He is the chair of the London Breast Meeting.
As teacher he acts as a Co-Director of the European School of Reconstructive Microsurgery.
Research interests
Jian Farhadi runs a number of clinical projects on the subject of breast reconstruction. His major projects are:
- PreHeat: To reduce the risk of skin flap necrosis by local heat application prior to mastectomy. Funded by NIHR RfPB
- SeriScaffold for Mastopexy: The use of an newly designed Matrix in breast lift procedures to achieve longevity of the result
- Virtual planning in own tissue breast reconstruction in collaboration with King’s College London
- Development of a breast reconstruction survey tool to assess outcome continuously
