Research interests
My primary research interests are systemic and pulmonary hypertension, heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, diabetic cardiomyopathy, cardiometabolic disorders and cardiorenal syndrome. My clinical translational goals are focused on preventive cardiology, through both pharmacological and therapeutic lifestyle / nutritional interventions. Laboratory research investigates the interplay between small artery injury, conduit vessel disease and myocardial dysfunction (diastolic), with a mechanistic focus on cardiovascular inflammation and redox signaling.
