    Nick Lloyd is Professor of Modern Warfare at King's College London based at the Joint Services Command & Staff College in Shrivenham, Wiltshire.

    Born in Chester in 1980, he graduated with a PhD from the University of Birmingham in 2005. He joined King's College London in 2006 and was initially based at the RAF College in Cranwell, Lincolnshire, before moving to the JSCSC in July 2007.

    Nick is the author of five books: Loos 1915 (Stroud: Tempus, 2006; republished by The History Press in 2008); The Amritsar Massacre: The Untold Story of One Fateful Day (London: I.B. Tauris, 2011); Hundred Days: The End of the Great War (London: Viking, 2013); Passchendaele: A New History (London: Viking, 2017); and The Western Front: A New History of the First World War (London: Viking, 2021).
