Research interests
My doctoral research explores the ideological significance of the canonical late medieval work 'Celestina' by Fernando de Rojas (1499), one of the most popular works of fiction in Early Modern Europe, and its reception in sixteenth-century Spain and Italy.
My interests lie in questions of authorship and authority; the human condition, including debates about the misery and dignity of man; literary reception and periodisation; the history of the book; language; identity; agency and fortune; the representation and cultural production of women in the Middle Ages and Renaissance, and debates about gender.
