Rahul Mukherjee

Rahul graduated from University College London (UCL) with degrees in Physiology (First Class Honours) and Medicine (Merit in Clinical Practice and Basic Medical Sciences). During medical school, he completed international clinical electives in Singapore (Singapore General Hospital) and the United States (Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA). He was also part of the student-led Team Everest Expedition to Mt Everest Base Camp where he studied the effects of acute and chronic hypoxia on the cardiovascular system.

Rahul was appointed to an Academic Foundation program in Cardiology at King's College Hospital, London in 2011. He completed rotations in General internal medicine (Respiratory), Cardiology, General Surgery (Hepato-biliary) and Accident and Emergency. He was subsequently appointed to a NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and King's College London. He is currently undertaking a PhD at King's College London on the pre-clinical development of a MR-guided electrophysiology system for ventricular tachycardia. He is funded by a Fellowship in Translational Medicine from the National Institute for Health Research Biomedical Research Centre at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and the Wellcome Trust. 

In addition to his research interests, he has previously served as a CMT Trainee representative and sat on the MRCP(UK) Management Board. He is currently an Associate Editor of Clinical Medicine and sits on the Royal College of Physicians' Trainees' Committee and Research and Academic Medicine Committee, RCP London.
