Rebecca Moazzez is a Reader in Oral Clinical Research and Prosthodontics/Hon. Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and the director of the Oral Clinical Research Unit (OCRU) at KCLFaculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences. Rebecca is a specialist in Prosthodontics and Restorative dentistry, has been teaching undergraduate and Prosthodontic postgraduate students since 1998 and has lectured nationally and internationally. Rebecca obtained her PhD in 2003 in the field of tooth wear and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) looking at the relationship between high reflux and dental erosion. She has several publications in refereed journals, written book chapters on erosive wear and has a grant income of over £2.5M. Her main expertise is clinical research focused on the role of saliva and pellicle in erosive wear and medical conditions associated with erosive wear. She has ongoing collaborations with gastroenterology colleagues looking at the relationship between GORD and erosive wear. As the director of the OCRU, Rebecca and her team oversee and facilitate all clinical research studies within the dental institute. The studies include commercially sponsored and commercially funded studies.
