Biographical details

Steven is a Clinical Psychologist and a Families and Couples Psychotherapist. He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Glasgow in 2004, and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Glasgow in 2008. He completed his MSc in Family Therapy at the IoPPN in 2014. Steven first joined the IoPPN as a Research Clinical Psychologist in 2008 working with Professor Til Wykes. Since then, he has worked both as a researcher and in clinical practice in the NHS. His clinical work is with adults, families, couples, young people and children, and is in the areas of early intervention and treatment of developmental disorders and mental health problems. Steven is currently Module Leader for Psychosocial Interventions on the Early Intervention MSc programme, working with the course Director Dr Andrea Mechelli.

Research interests

Steven’s research interests include early detection and treatment of developmental disorders and psychological distress. He is especially interested in the roles of systems and networks, and in the development and evaluation of new tools for early detection and treatment.
