Swati Jindal has recently completed Doctoral studies at King’s College London under the supervision of Dr Trevor Coward. Prior to this she received a Master’s degree in Tissue Engineering from Keele University. Her ambition is to pursue a career in translational medicine and contribute to new advanced healthcare technologies. She has developed a silicone elastomer which is capable of being 3D printed to create complex shapes. The other area of her research involved development of the 3D printing process using this material with a final aim of 3D printing maxillofacial prostheses. A 3D printer was adapted to print this biocompatible silicone.
