The main aim of our research is to understand gene networks using computational methods. We use large-scale datasets that can be represented as graphs (networks), such as protein-protein interaction data, transcription factor localisation data and microarray data. The number of organisms for which such large-scale datasets are available is increasing rapidly. Combining these data sets helps to get a picture of the 'real' network in the cell. We use these datasets to explore the function of individual genes and their interaction partners as well as attempt to identify genes involved in disease processes.
