In 2008 I obtained my bachelor's degree at Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Information Technology, Department: Communication Multimedia and HiFi Systems with the research project "Audio Signal Processing using the model Harmonic plus Noise".

Between October 2008 and July 2010 I developed (coordinated by Prof. Beatrice Popescu Pesquet) at Telecom Paris-Tech (ENST) in the Multimedia Department   a new rate distortion model in the context of multi-view image coding. Based on these results in March 2010 I finished my Master at Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Information Technology, Department: Digital Signal Processing with the dissertation paper "Multi-view video coding with H.264/AVC/MVC".

I obtained my PhD at CREATIS, INSA de Lyon (http://www.creatis.insa-lyon.fr/site/) in September 2013 with the thesisNonlinear approaches for phase retrieval in the Fresnel region for hard X-ray imaging". The objective of my work was to study various non-linear iterative approaches of phase retrieval problem in order to improve the quality of the synchrotron 3D micro-CT reconstruction. The phase retrieval problem is not trivial and its non-linear nature is not much studied in the literature, in this aim my work was focused in exploring different regularization schemes for non-linear ill-posed problem. Due to the large data set to be managed for synchrotron micro-CT a special attention in my work was devoted to computing efficiency. The algorithms were evaluated using both simulated and real data obtained at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble, France.

After my PhD I joint as a Research Associated the King's College BiomedicalEngineering Department in the project "Understanding the impact of the microvasculature on quantification of fibre orientation in the heart using Diffusion Spectrum MRI and computer models”.
