Biographical details

I was born in Dalian, China but spent most of my formative years in Singapore. I graduated from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2010 with an Honours Degree in Economics. Those four years at NUS eventually persuaded me – for better or worse – to pursue an academic career. I completed my Master’s degree in political science at NUS in January 2013 and am currently enrolled in the Joint Degree PhD Programme between NUS and King’s College London. My current research focuses on the political economy of international finance. At NUS, I have been the teaching assistant for a number of courses on international and comparative politics, international political economy and research methodology. In my spare time, I like to swim, play badminton, watch soccer matches, listen to music and travel to other countries. In addition, I also have a special interest in ziweidoushu (紫微斗数), a traditional Chinese astrology based on the I Ching (易经, the Book of Changes).
