Abstract

The paper reports on two modest one year projects. The first project focused on the development of a wayfinding device for use inside large complex buildings, the second on issues relating to indoor mobility. The purpose of the research was to investigate whether older people's views could be harnessed effectively at the very earliest stage in engineering research and development.
