Abstract

In Biometrics, fingerprint is still the most reliable and used technique to identify individuals. This paper proposes a new fingerprint matching technique, which matches the fingerprint information by using algorithms for approximate circular string matching. The minutiae information is transformed into string information by using a series of circles, which intercepts the minutiae and that information into a string. This string fingerprint information is then matched against a database by using approximate string matching techniques.
