A Place to Grow: A supplementary document to Growing in the Community

Research output: Book/ReportBook

Abstract

This update to Growing in the Community was commissioned in response to public concern over lengthening waiting lists for allotments in the UK. It aims to help local authorities minimise the length of time an individual has to wait before getting a space to grow. It provides good practice guidance on how to make the most of existing allotment sites through good management of allotment portfolios, the relevant law and planning procedures concerning new allotment sites and what ‘meanwhile’ gardening options exist for individuals to take advantage of, whilst waiting for an allotment plot to become available.
