c-Met Receptor PET Imaging Probes for Cancer Detection and Monitoring

Abstract

Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging has emerged as a highly promising tool for real-time, in vivo detection of irregularities in tyrosine-protein kinase Met (c-Met) and for diagnosing-related cancers. This chapter provides an overview of recent advancements in PET imaging for the detection of c-Met aberrations in cancer. Special attention is given to the development of PET probes in various sizes, including small molecules, anticalines, HGF, peptides, and antibodies all labeled with various radionuclides. The primary objective of this chapter is to summarize preclinical PET imaging studies conducted thus far for in vivo c-Met diagnosis in oncology, with the aim of supporting the developing new and improved PET probes to measure c-Met in vivo.
