Abstract

Knowledge transfer is an important source of value in multiunit firms. Diversity may increase both the benefits and the costs of transferring knowledge within the firm, and it may be associated with a number of psychological barriers to such transfer. Firms pursue a variety of strategies to overcome these challenges.
