Abstract

Ergonomic factors affect people’s health and well-being, especially poor ergonomics can be damaging to student’s health and can lead to decrease in performance. This paper reports the effect of temperature and lighting on students’ productivity by measuring the parameters objectively in an uncontrolled environment within a university setting. The results show statistically significant influence of the temperature on productivity at p = 0.008. The findings of the effect of lighting were also in line with the recommended guidelines by the Health and Safety Executive, UK.
