Abstract

Darke & Duflou’s analysis of survival times in heroinrelated deaths highlights the importance of timely overdose detection and naloxone administration. Future research should consider new technology for early overdose detection, application of their analysis to overdose from other opioids and clearer understanding of physical health comorbidities on time to death.
