Abstract

We extend an attention-and brain-based based architecture for mental simulation to allow for subliminal or creative thinking as part of a thinking sequence. In particular a mechanism for switching between attended and subliminal thinking is proposed. A simulation of this architecture is then presented, specifically for the task of 'Unusual uses of a cardboard box'.
