Abstract

What is the role of multinational enterprises (MNEs) in addressing global development challenges? We provide a framework for understanding the impact of MNEs on UN development goals in emerging markets and draw on case studies to highlight socially responsible investments and their contribution to poverty alleviation, food security, health security, environmental security and electrification in developing countries.
