Abstract

This research challenges the existing narrative of the roots of wargaming. It restores the fields of Strategic Studies and Military and Political history to its rightful place as central to wargaming development. It features Sir Julian Corbett and Carl Von Clausewitz, new research, the current and future state of naval wargaming and a new interpretation of why naval wargaming exists.
