Our International Women’s Day event this year will centre around a lecture by Dr Kate McMillan, an AWITA Member and Lecturer at King’s College London. Dr McMillan produced a report with the Freelands Foundation on the “Representation of Female Artists in Britain During 2018”; and this evening will comprise of two sections - firstly looking at the gendered obstacles that women face in the commercial gallery sector, but also highlighting the successes and experience of AWITA members in shifting this.
