Biographical details
Dr Anastasia Chalkidou is currently working as a Senior Health Technology Assessor at King's Technology Evaluation Centre (KiTEC).
Anastasia has a clinical background specialising in Clinical Oncology with a focus on patients with lung cancer. She finished her medical degree in 2004 and continued to gain an MSc in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in 2008 and a Ph.D. in the validation of positron emission tomography (PET) biomarkers in oncology for monitoring response to treatment in 2016. Since 2014, she is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
She has more than eight years’ experience in systematic reviewing and the design and critical appraisal of clinical studies using image-derived biomarkers. In her current role, she combines her clinical commitments in treating patients with cancer with evaluating medical technologies and facilitating primary research arising from NICE guidance.
Anastasia teaches undergraduate medical students at KCL about decision theory in medical imaging and applications of PET imaging biomarkers in both research and clinical settings.
