Andreas is a Reader (Associate Professor) in Comparative Management and is also currently the Deputy Programme Director of the MSc International Management at King’s Business School. He received his PhD from the London School of Economics (LSE).
His work is published in leading academic journals such as: British Journal of Industrial Relations; ILR Review; Work Employment & Society; Business History; European Journal of Industrial Relations; International Journal of HRM; Economic and Industrial Democracy, among others. His research has been funded by various bodies such as: the ESRC, the European Union, and National Bank of Greece.
Andreas actively disseminates the findings of his research through opinion and thought leadership pieces in different outlets e.g. The Conversation, LSE Business Review, ETUI Policy Briefs, LSE British Politics and Policy, The European Business Review. His work has been cited by the OECD, ILO, European Parliament, European Commission, Eurofound, ETUI, and other organizations.
Andreas has been invited as an expert evaluator by several funding bodies, e.g., the British Council, the Economic and Social Research Council, the MRC, and the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) and was also consulted as an external expert for projects funded by the European Commission and Hans-Böckler-Stiftung.
He has been a member of editorial boards and has been invited to review for more than 25 different journals such as: Organization Studies; British Journal of Management; Journal of Business Ethics; Journal of Common Market Studies; Governance, and others.
Andreas was a visitor at several global research hubs such as the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Labour Studies (AIAS) at the University of Amsterdam; the SPS Department at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence; and the Whitaker Institute for Innovation and Societal Change at NUI Galway.
He is currently a Fellow of UK’s Higher Education Academy, an Associate Fellow of Digital Futures at Work Research Centre, and Research Associate of the LSE’s Hellenic Observatory.
Past prizes, honours and distinctions include Teaching Award Nominations (KCL); Inspiring Leadership in Society Prize (NUI); the ‘Mike Rose’ Prize (WES) and the ‘Keith Thurley’ Prize (LSE). In his research and teaching he applies a comparative and institutional perspective on topics at the intersection of comparative management, HRM and employment relations.
PhD supervision: My interests are broadly in the fields of comparative management, institutional analysis, HRM and employment relations. Possible topics of PhD proposals include: digitalization of work; new forms of flexibility at work; employee voice; trade unions and employers associations; high performance work systems and HRM; institutional change; markets, competitive dynamics and regulation.
