Mrs
Annie qualified as a nurse in 1981 and then worked in a range of acute and critical care settings across London. After graduating from a politics and social policy degree in 1990 Annie worked as a senior staff nurse on the pioneering HIV/AIDS unit at the Middlesex Hospital before moving to the Bloomsbury School of Nursing to teach nursing students and qualified staff how to care for patients with HIV. Before coming to King's College London in 1995 as a lecturer Annie achieved a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. In 1996 Annie was awarded her MSc in Nursing Studies at King's.
In her role at King's Annie has taught HIV/AIDS, sexual health, politics, policy and a range of related professional topics. Annie has always been interested in the historical context and antecedents of current policy. In recent years this has led to an active pursuit of historical studies and research.
