Research interests

Dinah's PhD (2008) was in Social Psychology. It concerned ageism in the workplace, and indicated that older workers are evaluated according to 'ageist' stereotypes, which mean they are seen as less likely than younger workers to contribute to workplace productivity and meeting organisational goals. She has developed the Ageism At Work (AAW) scale which helps to identify ageist attitudes within organisations. Through an experimental social psychological study, her work has shown that in workplaces perceived as involving high pressure and tough targets, ageism and age discrimination are more likely to occur than in workplaces involving less pressured work.

Her current work at King's College London concerns money management among older couples, working with Dr. Debora Price and Tom Daly.
