I obtained my degree in Biology from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto, Portugal and a PhD in Neuroscience from Imperial College London where I studied the role of the cannabinoid system in sensory processing in primary sensory neurons. In 2014 I started a postdoctoral position in Marzia Malcangio’s lab at the Wolfson Center for Age Related Diseases at King’s College London where I have looked at the NGF/TrkA signaling system in osteoarthritis pain. I am currently a post-doctoral research associate in Professor Susan D. Brain lab, at Kings College London where I am focusing my research in studying the mechanisms involved in peripheral nociceptive processing, particularly in the context of arthritic pain, with particular interest in vascularisation and inflammation.
