My work is conducted primarily on the Genetic Links to Anxiety and Depression (GLAD) Study, both as a research assistant and part-time PhD student. I am interested in examining the diagnostic classifications of depression and anxiety disorders that are utilised in research, and how research outputs may be impacted by heterogeneity and comorbidity. Currently, I am investigating the overlap between minimal/broad and detailed/deep phenotying methods within the GLAD sample and the implications this has on future research. In the future I will be utilising polygenic risk scores for depression and anxiety alongside measures of symptoms and severity to explore the heterogeneity of these phenotypes.
